Privacy notice
Last updated 28 October 2026
This notice explains what personal information Dorima collects when you order, why, and what you can ask us to do with it, as required by the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- Your name and cellphone number
- Your email address, only if you give it to us for your receipt
- Your delivery address, and your exact location if you choose to pin it, so the driver can find you
- What you ordered, when, and how you paid
We don't receive or store card details: card payments are handled by Yoco on their secure payment page.
Why we use it
Only to process and deliver your order: to confirm it with you on WhatsApp, deliver it, settle any weight difference (including credit for your next order, which is linked to your name and cellphone number), send you your invoice or receipt (by email, if you gave us your address), and keep the records a business must keep. We don't sell your information or share it with anyone else for marketing.
Where it's kept
Orders are stored in our online order system, which runs on Cloudflare's servers in the European Union (where the EU's data protection law, the GDPR, applies). We talk to you on WhatsApp. Card payments are processed by Yoco. If you give us your email address, your receipt is sent through our email provider. To keep out automated fake orders, checkout may use Cloudflare's security check (Turnstile). We send deliveries with Uber, Bolt or a courier, so the driver gets your name, number, address and pin for that delivery. To work out your delivery fee, your address may be looked up on OpenStreetMap's map service. These providers only process information on our behalf.
To see how many people visit the website, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't follow you to other websites.
On your own device, this website remembers your basket and your order numbers so you can get back to your invoice. Only if you tick "Save my details in this browser" at checkout are your name, number and address saved in your browser too (it starts unticked). You can clear them at any time with "Not you? Clear details" at checkout, or by clearing your browser's data for this site.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for the business and for tax purposes, usually five years, and then delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we're not required to keep it. Contact us on WhatsApp 084 276 1987. If you're not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
